NATURAL DISASTER – COMBINATION OF NATURAL HAZARDS

TYPES
Earthquakes
1. Road and bridge damage
2. Human loss of life
3. Higher insurance premiums
4. General property damage

Flood
1. Physical damage - Structures such as buildings get damaged due to flood water. Landslides can also take place.
2. Water supplies- Contamination of water. Clean drinking water becomes a scarce.
3. Casualties- People and livestock die due to drowning. It can also lead to epidemics and diseases.
4. Crops and food supplies- Shortage of food crops can be caused due to loss of entire harvest

Tsunami
1. Loss of life and property
2. Ecosystem effect
3. The largest waves are caused by a very large landslide, such as a collapsing island, into a body of water
